Read Mail (63 New) by zach on 06-03-2005 at 09:36 AM

A person went on to their hotmail account on my computer and they had 63 new messages. It also says it on the windows account screen. I don't know how to stop it saying that. Do you know how?
Thanks.

you open hotmail and delete them all/read them all

RE: Read Mail (63 New) by zach on 06-03-2005 at 09:37 AM

That has been done. They don't have any e-mails anymore.
No junk mail. Nothing.

It takes the next time or times to sign in for it to happen :P Well for me it does :S

Start | Run | control userpasswords2 | Advanced | Manage Passwords | Delete the user you don't want.

Easiest Way:

Just wait 14 days for it to expire by itself.

RE: Read Mail (63 New) by RaceProUK on 06-03-2005 at 12:06 PM

I thought it was 72 hours?

RE: Read Mail (63 New) by rav0 on 06-03-2005 at 12:23 PM

It might not be 14 days, but it is certainly more than 72 hours. I am talking about default. Also, when it is customised, the unit is days, not hours.

RE: Read Mail (63 New) by RaceProUK on 06-03-2005 at 03:49 PM

Tweak UI seems to think the default is 3 days (hence why I said 72 hours).

RE: Read Mail (63 New) by rav0 on 06-03-2005 at 11:47 PM

Well if it is 3 days, it's better for zach. Either way, if you don't want to fix it yourself (because you're lazy like me :p) you can just wait it out.

Oops, I should have searched :p

Thanks CookieRevised, you know so much :D;)

Please people, why wasn't this thread ended with my post (or the one from Absorbation, cause he posted simultaniously)? If you don't know about what you're talking about, don't post... please....

And as you can read from my posted link it totaly depends from system to system (and the default can be altered by many many many programs and factors)... Also Chris, what you posted has absolutely nothing to do with this and should never been posted in the first place...

RE: Read Mail (63 New) by John Anderton on 06-04-2005 at 08:52 AM

I tht it was read all mails then sign into messenger ... it cures it for me :S

RE: Read Mail (63 New) by CookieRevised on 06-04-2005 at 04:12 PM

Messenger has absolutely nothing to do with this. As far as this problem concearns Messenger could be a non existing thing....

And the correct answer is already given...
