Is MSN becomming one big ad? by thepengwin on 06-07-2005 at 10:25 AM

Hello all!

What i was just trying to put across is how many advertisements and paid options there are in messenger now. i have recently gotten MSN 7 and now i see ads everywhere! one in the contacts menu, a popup when u sign n, a small text ad at the bottom of all my convos, emoticion and wink packs that u have to pay for and now thet even use your own music against you. if you click on what someone is playing you are taken to ninemsn music!!! now thats getting really low. thank goodness for stuffplug NG ans messenger plus. they manage to get rid of most of the ads.

I'm guessing thats 'Msn Today' - You can disable that

Go to Tools > Options > General

Then untick Display Msn Today when messenger signs in

You can always patch your msn with Mess Patch or A-Patch to remove the other adds that you dont want

Yes, i know that Msn has alot of adds and they are quite annoying, but there are ways to get rid of them :P

And that's because some people think that if it's free, it should be free without all the annoying ads such as the banner ad at the bottom of the contact list. Oh, and because it's Microsoft :p

Instead of patching msn messenger (which is a illegal) you could use a plugin for msgplus! called stuffplug which has the option to remove the adds in the conv window and contact list and many more great features.

edit sorry didn't see that you had stuffplug

Changing msn is in everyone illegal but different types :P

Use mess patch or ghost patch as well :)

It's against microsofts terms of use btw which you have to accept http://messenger.msn.com/Help/Terms.aspx

Check if you have :P
