change default folder by spikedekat on 06-10-2005 at 11:15 AM

is there a way to change the custom sounds folder?

I'm afraid that there is no way to change the folder where the custom sounds are stored.

There is, however, a registry setting available to make your sound library private, if you're worried about others on your computer using/listening to your sounds :)

See http://www.msgplus.net/help_registry.php and look for CustomSoundsPrivate.

What is the default folder?  I want to use the sounds I've created.

RE: change default folder by Tochjo on 06-16-2005 at 01:26 PM

The default folder is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Messenger Plus!\Custom Sounds on Windows XP and C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Messenger Plus!\Custom Sounds on Windows 98/ME.

I don't have an Application Data folder.   My choices are...Desktop, Favorites, ImageConverter2, Shared Documents, and Start Menu.  There is also a NTUSER.DAT file present.

Application Data is a hidden folder, you need to enable the showing oh hidden folder.

Tools  -->  Folder Options  -->  'View' Tab  -->  Untickj Hide protected operating system files
