Is this a virus??????? by DazTheSpaz on 06-14-2005 at 02:35 PM

Hi all,
Has anyone heard of this?

Folder named::
memogridbluefilm

Contents of folder::
eachgreyfind.file  ???
htm plan.application ???

they seem to be something to do with IE, but i have removed internet exploerer from my pc and i use mozilla firefox, since this morning each time my pc boots up my microsoft antispyware kicks in (before full boot) askin if i want accept the files usage or delete, i hit delete each time but next time i reboot its there again, ive tried to remove the files and the folder manually but always promted with (File in use).
And ive even tried removing the files with wincleaner utility suit, using the destroy files/folders, with the same promting.

ive checked background processes and heres a list of background programs at startup, hell of lot ??

see attachment

And thnx in advance

if you have an antiv virus program try scanning the files or the folder its in. if you dont then try an online virus scanner. Trend Micro is a good one:

Didn't find anything that could be a virus, it could be Spy/Adware, if so get a free spyremoval tool here

Remember to turn of systemrestore and boot into safe mode when doing those scans ;)

Also you should not remove IE from your comp, windowsupdate etc. needs it..so reinstall. It's not harmful to have it on your computer and it doesn't mean you have to use it as your browser, just set the other one as default ;)

I do use antivirus, microsoft antispyware, adware & hijackthis.

Download Adaware SE 1.06 from lavasys.com

the microsoft adware remover is crappy as it can't and doesn't yet remove processes that are running

ad-aware se removes running processes at startup on the next boot to prevent them from being started again

you might also try using google to check the programs that are running in your process list
