Mouse Problem by J.J on 06-19-2005 at 08:04 AM

Hey guys, i'm currently trying to get a new mouse to work on a new laptop.

Its a Apple Powerbook G4 and i've inserted the mouse into the USB connection but the computer isn't recognising it

Does anyone know how i can solve these problems?

Help is much appreciated

I don't think you can directly run PC .exe files in Mac OS, can you? :)
You should get the executables for Mac, if I've got it right, .bin files. ;)

As for the mouse problem, which mouse are you trying to plug in, and does it come with a Mac driver?

RE: Mouse Problem and opening .exe problem by Vilkku on 06-19-2005 at 08:42 AM

My point is that (afaik) a pc mouse doesn't work with a mac.

yes it does

my old school uses Logitech optical mice for the Emacs and Imacs

and you can emulate .exe files on macs

USB. Universal Serial Bus.

What the hell? That isn't going to install the drives for the mouse.

theres no need

Mac has built in HID drivers

pretty strange that they aren't activatin though

Yes, and you're telling me all of the USB mice these days work on every OS because of their built in drivers? You've got to be kidding me.

The Overdrive drivers provide a lot better compatibility too.

What exactly is the version of your Mac OS?

Norton AV has a Mac version, perhaps you'd be interested ;)

no im saying apples work with all mice coz they have generic built in drivers, and considering i've worked with enough apple machines with different mice to know this then :P
