i was wondering if someone could tell me how to get a random avatar/sig.  so tell me how get one and any instructions are appreciated as always...so thanks anyways... :P

The one your using now is random, it changes for every person :P

Might I add that random avatars and signatures are annoying. If I view 10 posts per page, with 10 15 KB avatars, that is 150 KB of just avatars. The annoying thing about the ramdomness is that they can't get cached, they get downloaded on every page view.

err no.... the browser will use the same image
* -dt- makes example page......with no caching headers....
http://random.thedt.net/randnum/random.html
and then even if i add no caching headers
http://random.thedt.net/randnum/randomnocache.html
the browser still uses the same image

so [Image: msn_tongue.gif]

Yes they will. The the 10 posts per page will be different people, with their own avatar. If the same person has multiple posts on the same page, then their random avatar will appear the same each time, on that page.

It depends how the random avatar script is coded, for example mine supports cacheing because it redirects to a random image, where as some echo the image contents and therefore dotn support cacheing
