Problem with the rules by user27089 on 06-26-2005 at 08:04 PM

Well,

As you know in the rules, you are only allowed to speak any language other than english outside of the forum "Translation". I think I may have found a problem.

Somebody in this thread has posted something that shouldn't be in that forum, and then something else, a question maybe, I was looking at the rules, and since he is in the forum "translation", I can't tell him to speak english, because as the rules state:

I feel so helpless

there is a problem with the italian translation of www.msgplus.net

he posted in the correct forum, why would he need to talk english?

The post after that, his second post, is a question, that's the wrong forum, and I couldn't tell him to be english...

what's it called? A lupole or something.

Okay, but still, I found a lupole .

It could be abused somehow.

Either way, that post is in the wrong forum, it should be in Forum & Website.

its a loophole

imo, this doesnt matter, and someone who speaks the language would pobally be able to help when they see the thread, so its not that important

as long as someone is able to add a translation to a post, i dont see the problem, but you are wrong, he posted in english, just copied the italian parts to fix :P

If the rules covered every little detail and loophole, they'd be so long nobody would read them... :p

RE: Problem with the rules by user27089 on 06-27-2005 at 06:58 AM

All you would have to add is something like:

Languages: All posts should be written in the English language. If you post in a different language, you must provide an English translation. This rule does not apply to the Translation forum, unless of course if your post is off-topic or in the wrong forum.

RE: Problem with the rules by WDZ on 06-27-2005 at 07:08 AM

Then the off-topic/wrong-forum rule takes precedence over the language rule... common sense, really.

Posting in a foreign language doesn't justify posting in the wrong forum.
