[Suggestion] IRC Plugin. by rompom7 on 06-29-2005 at 03:09 PM

A plugin that connects to an IRC server, so you are able to join / leave channels and use basic IRC functionality.

I don't think anyone will make this because it's quite useless.
There are lots of other clients that allow you to connect to multiple networks (like IRC).
And if you really want to chat on an IRC server, why not use an IRC client?

I agree, I don't understand why it would be useful to have access to this feature from Plus!...

It would be cool to have irc channels in msn chats but it would require alot of work and theres many clients , (none of which hook into msn though) so i dont think anyone will make this

You could have it added in a tab in the contact list. Someone wanted ICQ added in MSNM so someone suggested putting it in a tab.

Although I TheGeek, if you want an IRC client, download one.

hey what you guys want with an irc client, isnt the one that msgplus uses not good enough for you, almost only newbish people use it (most turk people dont know how to handle it)  its not that i have an registered mirc Sysreset client,  but it takes a lot of time to get it under controle the mirc clients,  the only newbish thing is that some people cant controle there script they have installed (even i have sometimes problems) so you have been warned

BEWARE^^

Well there's a plugin to add MSN to your mIRC :)

It's MSNP9 so it should work okay... Give it a try

RE: [Suggestion] IRC Plugin. by DJcool on 07-03-2005 at 07:01 PM

what about linking msn to IRC... as in.. lets say i hav a network and users are banned on my irc network and i want to offer some sort of automatic support via msn. ppl add my msn email add on their contact and pvt chat to me on msn but instead of me doing all the works, it will b like a robot so lets say they type some sort of syntax !unban 127.0.0.1 and that can be linked to my mirc window like DDE for winamp plugin.. then it removes the ip automatically from ban and it sends another automatic message to that user on msn sayin that the ip has been removed... or something.. i hope this is not too confusing.. sounds a bit complicated eh

No offence, but if you used the appropriate spelling, it would be better to understand.. I had to re-read it like 3 times...

But you can technically make a BOT that both connects to MSN and to IRC... There are some sites about that, some example scripts...

The community at Bot-Depot.com is very helpfull but they also have "Help us, Help You"... So if you want help from them, be clear ;)

You can:
- Create an MSN bot
- Create an IRC bot

If a user types !unban 12.34.12.12 in MSN, it'll be sent to the IRC bot, who removes the ban... You have to try it out a bit... Test it, and learn from it...

i apologise for that.. thanks for the reply, i am checking bot-depot.com right away :)

1) he meant an irc client in msn messenger
2) gawd, why bring turks into this?
3) its not a 'registered sysreset mirc client', your just using mirc with some lame script
4) if your using a script it takes no time to learn it, and with basic mirc maby just a couple minutes to learn
5) if you cant control a script then uninstall it and use basic mirc, since its thirty times better
6) you wouldn't have problems if you just uninstalled sysreset script.
7) warned? again, theres no difficulty.

I have made an IRC <> MSN bot in Perl. It is extremely simple.

But I was after a plugin for Messenger Plus! <> IRC.

I have an IRC client (mIRC), I use IRC everyday, I just wanted something more lightweight.

Alright. I will take it upon myself to make this plugin.

Don't expect it to be finished any time soon...
