agreed. If hes really interested in buying it for that much then he would bid on eBay when asked to do so.

Its actually not safe if you do 'off auction' type sales. Basically you're not covered if he doesnt pay etc plus singapore postage is very high.  Oh infact! when i sold mine i got message from people in Africa asking will they sell it for me, i think they were fraud type so i just didnt.

If he sends you the money first, then do it :-/.

Well if all seems okay, and you get the money before hand, and no more offers, then go for it :)

Good luck

well this is what is says on his 'profile' when i checked it this mornig
"No longer a registered user

plus ebay always says to finish the transaction throug them.
is just not safe...only if u get the money first then u can rip him off:P

Being a seller on ebay myself, if I am not mistaken, its somewhere in the help files about that you are not allowed to do private sales with an item that is listed. I'm certain you are only allowed to do that if no one bids on the item and you can offer it as a second chance offer

EDIT: heres the page from the uk site acout off site sales: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/rfe-spam-non-ebay-sale.html

Ebay states:

An offer to sell an item directly to another eBay member through email breaches eBay's policy. It's also extremely unsafe to purchase an item through this email system, regardless of the seller's claims or feedback, as you lose the benefit of eBay's Purchase Protection Programme and risk losing your money.

Then that would be in voiolation of the the sellers rules and policies. See the link in my previous post :)

i think it mean that he hasnt check the email that they send you to make sure you have a valid email adress. like a validation
"nevermind "

Well if you wanna go for it, sell it, but just be extra careful that you do get the money :)

RE: eBay - would you trust someone in a message not a bid? by Vazza on 06-30-2005 at 08:06 PM

mwe99: he can't as it is a violation of the seller's policy

may73alliance: the best thing you can do is return the email saying you cannot do what he/she is asking as it is again the rules and policies set out by ebay for seller and tell them that they would have to bid on it on the site. If thy want it badly enough, they'll bid through ebay and then at least you would get feedback too.

* Vazza bangs her head off the wall

why me?

That was the page I already posted in a previous post here.
In my opinion it would be much safer for you to wait and see if you sell it through ebay and if you don't then you can offer it through second chance. I would also not advise it since it does say thay they are no longer a registered member. Its only my opinion though.
