how can i know, if its possible, if one of my contact is in conversation with someone else?

you cant it is against privacy 
and it cant be done at all. Well it can but you would both need the plguin and that would be useless saying download this plugin so i can spy on you and you can spy on me 
And i doubt anyone would make it for that reason

In some chats, like the old mirc, with the option "whois" it was possible to know a little of informations like the e-mail and the nicknames of the actual conversations of a user, not the content of the conversation itself ofcourse.
