You can already do that;

Save the image you want as lvback.gif and then in a Windows administrator account go to the MSN Messenger program files folder (by default it is C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger) and place the lvback.gif file in there.

To save the image as lvback.gif, you could open the image you want in Microsoft's Paint, and then go to file > save as > save the name as lvback and set the "Save as type" at GIF (*.GIF).

You may need to Exit MSN Messenger and reopen for this to take effect.

Once this is done, the image will be the background for MSN Messenger.

Not true, try doing that but make sure you put the lvback.gif in C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger or wherever your MSN Messenger folder is - this does work in MSN Messenger.

There is no way, but if you made several installations of MSN Messenger in various directorys, and each person used their own installation folder of MSN Messenger, you could do it.

On the administrators account, go to C:/Program Files in there, copy and paste the msn messenger folder, and rename the folder that you pasted something like "Number 1 MSN" or something.

Now, put the lvback.gif that you want in your folder.

Then make another one like "Number 2 MSN", and then make sure that the other people use that one, with no image in.

If you have programming skills it wouldn't be all that hard. But it would require conversion of images.

On Initialize get the users email address
Get a stored path to a picture
Convert it to a gif, save it in c:\program files\msn messenger and rename it to lvback.gif

On Uninitialize
If the file exists delete the lvback.gif file from the folder.
