Voice conversations by stephen_wq on 07-16-2005 at 10:05 AM

Ok, i didnt do a search, because i think i would be in different circumstances than other people. Notify me if i am wrong.

I am on a computer which gets its internet from internet connection sharing, not a router or a modem, and no i am not going to buy one.
This is how it goes:

You have invited xxxxxxx@xxxxx.com to start an audio conversation. Please wait for a response, or Cancel (Alt+Q) the pending invitation.

xxxxxxx@xxxxx.com has accepted your invitation to start an audio conversation.

The audio conversation with xxxxxx has ended.

Now i know its not their end, because if i go on the computer that is giving internet to this one, it connects and works well.
Although it could be there end in the fact that they cant connect to me.

Any ideas?

edit: Webcam works with me sending if its any help.

do you have a fire wall installed which blocks it?

i have 128k upload and 256k download, firewall is on the other computer, and it works on that one, this one only has windows firewall. I empisise that i am using internet connection sharing, and the one that is providing it works with voice convos.
Voice convos work on dial up, even if they are bad quality.

edit: it is not random, it happens every time

Which could be blocking audio conversations.

Windows firewall is useless anyway.  I do not know if you would need a firewall as you are using ICS, and if you did maybe try a better one like Sygate.

For the average user, it's perfectly fine.
