ScreenSaver by TylerG on 07-22-2005 at 09:05 PM

Is there anyway I could get the one of the ipod commercials as a screensaver?

RE: ScreenSaver by Supersonicdarky on 07-22-2005 at 09:08 PM

make it a flash, then convert it to a screensaver: http://www.zbsoft.net/flashscreensaver/

RE: ScreenSaver by TylerG on 07-22-2005 at 09:11 PM

Well I can't seem to find any way to make it into one.  The only way I can save the commercial is as an htm.  I have googled it and found nothing.  Please help me, I think that would be an awesome screensaver.

RE: ScreenSaver by [MR] on 07-23-2005 at 05:36 AM

we looked for one on tylerG's computer forever and couldnt find one so plz help us find one!

RE: ScreenSaver by kao on 07-23-2005 at 09:25 AM

http://www.apple.com/ipod/ads/

you couldn't find them, but they're on the Apple site... :undecided:

just download, get Macromedia Flash, import the video into a flash project then make it a screensaver with supersonicdarky's

RE: ScreenSaver by TylerG on 07-23-2005 at 03:41 PM

I know they are on the apple website:P but it won't let me download them. The only thing I can do is save them as an htm, and then I can't do anything with them:undecided:

View the source and check for a .swf file.

RE: ScreenSaver by mwe99 on 07-26-2005 at 03:53 AM

its actually a .mov file, not an SWF, stored in the source code like

http://annexample/test.mov

so right click > save target as

It will be now downloaded on your PC as a QuickTime movie, now just import it into flash and save it as a swf.

Pop-Lock

Small 3.2MB:  http://images.apple.com/movies/us/apple/ipod_itun...unes-lock_m320.mov

Medium 7.1MB : http://images.apple.com/movies/us/apple/ipod_itun...unes-lock_m480.mov

Large 8.0MB: http://images.apple.com/movies/us/apple/ipod_itun...unes-lock_m640.mov

Rollerskating

Small 3.2MB: http://images.apple.com/movies/us/apple/ipod_itun...unes-roll_m320.mov

Medium 6.9MB: http://images.apple.com/movies/us/apple/ipod_itun...unes-roll_m480.mov

Large 7.1MB: http://images.apple.com/movies/us/apple/ipod_itun...unes-roll_m640.mov

So basically choose the one you want, right click it, save target as. Then import it into flash by using Macromedia or some other Flash creation software. Save the newly created flash file, usually with a file extension of SWF. Then use the program mentioned above. Someone might be nice and make the swf files for you.Like me! I made the files using the Large .mov file in each swf file. I have attatched them as a zip file.

Right well feeling generous, I even made the two screensavers for you using the program mentioned above.

XP has a nifty powertoy that allows you to view video as a screensaver.
It doesn't work with quicktime files though.
apple_ipoditunes-lock.mpg - 4162kb
apple_ipoditunes-roll.mpg - 4192kb

RE: ScreenSaver by henri on 07-26-2005 at 10:28 PM

ok but how can i open Macromedia Flash  in case im using windows xp

RE: ScreenSaver by mwe99 on 07-26-2005 at 10:34 PM

Macromedia Flash is actually a different program that does not come with Windows XP. If you google it you may find a trial version of the program. Some member may know a free flash creater.

You could always hit http://www.google.com or http://www.download.com and try searching for flash creator

Thanks so much:D It works great:D The only problem is, when it runs for a while my computer start making the error sound over and over again and it says out of memory or something:S  Any ideas?
RE: ScreenSaver by mwe99 on 07-27-2005 at 01:46 AM

A) You're welcome

B) I'm not sure, I'll run it and test. It could be the actual way the program is made.  Nope i didn't get any errors :S

RE: ScreenSaver by TylerG on 07-27-2005 at 02:14 AM

Well for me it took like thirty minutes before the errors occured. I went downstairs and was watching TV, when my brother came to me and told me my computer was beeping:S

RE: ScreenSaver by rav0 on 08-05-2005 at 06:17 AM

I can host them if someone emails them to ravneel@gmail.com

BTW to import a Quicktime movie into Flash, do you need to be able to watch Quicktime movies on your computer?

RE: ScreenSaver by Purity on 08-05-2005 at 07:11 AM

Yeah, someone rehost that screensaver that that dude made with the 2 commercials.

RE: ScreenSaver by mwe99 on 08-15-2005 at 11:11 PM

I'm aware this is a slight bump, but I got a PM asking me do I still have the files. I recreated them just now so if anyone would like to host them,  pm me or add me to MSN and you can use them how you please

dont bash me :$
