photoshopped the status up the top are the same as patchous screenshot (http://files.msgplus.net/images/news/groupchat.png)
[Image: xso_undecided.gif] so whats the point of this thread?

RE: msgplus NEWS by Jimcando on 07-24-2005 at 01:16 PM

Yeh, what is the point?
So, Buzzen is a chat service that looks suspiciasly (sp) like MSN. What's with the icon under the MSG Plus! one?

That is what he is saying, he wants Patchou to add that little man there to link to Buzzen.

That bar is directly associated with Messenger Plus!, I doubt Patchou would add such a thing to his extension.
RE: msgplus NEWS by Jimcando on 07-24-2005 at 01:29 PM

Ahhhhh, now i understand. :D

RE: msgplus NEWS by Supersonicdarky on 07-24-2005 at 01:40 PM

instead of making a link to "buzzen", you should be prompted to enter a chatroom website, then username and pass! Then you could chat i the chatroom through ur msn. That would be awsome! :D

yes, sorry I'm french
but it's great idea no?:P
RE: msgplus NEWS by Lou on 07-24-2005 at 03:19 PM

well great I dont know...first like I said it should be in the suggestions section..second of all I doubt patchou wants all his membes to have to sign up to a passport on another non-related site to be able to use one of it's features. therefore I say that he should make his own chat client that would connect to the msgplus chatroom instead of just another chatroom you have to sign up to. and news...well its not news...and if it was patchou would be telling us and not a new member.

RE: msgplus NEWS by matty on 07-24-2005 at 03:22 PM

Unfortunatly no this isn't a good idea. Pathou doesn't technically associate with other companies and if he added an icon he would probably need to pay them monthly and have written consent. This wont be added simply because of that fact.

Just realized that Buzzen is not MSN Chat like I thought it was... but it looks to use their servers... :mipdodgy:

RE: msgplus NEWS by Patchés on 07-24-2005 at 03:27 PM

Buzzen doesn't look to legal. Looks as if it is using the MSN Servers in a dodgy way, taking information.

Matty, is this a security threat to MSN?

i think if Patchou want then he could a a button for msgplus! forums.. :) or may be a easy accessible way to access the forums.. may be a /forums command in chat window to link to the msgplus! forum....
RE: msgplus NEWS by ptitwilly2 on 07-24-2005 at 09:45 PM

but...
buzzen it's a exemple but patchou create other chat.
direct to msn ok?

RE: msgplus NEWS by Lou on 08-04-2005 at 03:27 AM

unfourtunately I disagree with this whole chat idea...he should just add direct commands to the forum, and the irc chat, OR [most likely] everyone could make their own qucik texts to do both of those...sum1 close this thread?

Exactly, no need for a link to a particular website in an instant messaging window. Program launcher software exists for that... Be it msn chat, be it Msghelp.net, whatever... no need for the clutter and no sense for a predefined command :-/

RE: msgplus NEWS by Lou on 08-04-2005 at 02:30 PM

someone please close this thread....

Sorry, but I think it's an great idea. I mean, why not making it customizable for the user? Then you can add whatever you want... Like this forum... Or the IRC channel from here... But also user defined links and stuff... :)

Add a function to alter the icon used for that option... And I think you have a great option... Maybe useless for some users... But might be very handy for others who really do like it...

Or are you saying you use every option of messenger Plus? ;)
I bet you don't... I mean... The ping option is kind of useless (unless you want to know if someone has plus)

;)

No parts of Plus! are useless, Patchou has constantly reviewed ideas from forum members and included as much as he wants to do. I highly doubt he will be associating with any third party companies to build links into Plus! if you want to do that, get a tab manager and make a tab for it... i dont see the point of having a link to a chat room on an instant messaging program period

I assure you that if Patchou was to add the Buzzen Icon and have it link to there main site they would be more then happy.

Infact I bet they would place a MessengerPlus banner on there main page :P
RE: msgplus NEWS by CookieRevised on 08-19-2005 at 01:40 AM

Messenger Plus! will never include something like this (links to 3rd party chat programs), and especially not when those chat services ripped of graphics, concepts and what-not from official companies....

Also, were will it draw the line? There are hundreds of such chat programs and services available, not to mention all the millions of different chat rooms.....

An a related note: I'm certain Buzzen.com is absolutely illegal in what they are doing (they ripped the whole look and concept of MSN)

Well lets see if you can put your money where your mouth is :D

If you can show me 1 thing ripped from MSN on the Buzzen.com website OR show me 1 Law that Buzzen.com is breaking I will donate $100 USD to MSGPlus.

But if you fail to prove the trash that pours from your mouth you have to donate $100 USD to Buzzen.com

When you are man enough to back up your big mouth I look forward to seeing your reply :)
RE: msgplus NEWS by ShawnZ on 09-16-2005 at 02:43 AM

Sorry, but unless i'm mistaken using the MSN CHAT CONTROL without microsoft's permission is illegal. Proof:

RE: msgplus NEWS by CookieRevised on 09-16-2005 at 04:50 AM

Not only that... Even a guy who just woke up and still needs to adopt his blurry vision to the daylight can see that the whole site is a plain copy of MSN's concept...

And that includes EVERYTHING you find on the site, including to so called passport stuff (which I VERY highly doubt is even a legit "Passport". And in case it is, it can't be called Buzzen Passport but must be called, referred and linked to the official Passport site), chat stuff, heck even the members profiles, search possebilities and what not....

The whole site and the service of Buzzen is a plain rip-off of MSN Chat and MSN Members and even portraying that it is something new is false as it uses MSN chat anyways.

If you don't call the whole Buzzen thing a ripoff then I don't know what you understand about ripping. A blind man could see that the site is identical to MSN's.

1) Nice way of giving a face to Buzzen by flaming and insulting me. It fits nicely in the rip-off concept of Buzzen....
2) I will never donate anything to something like that. Heck I even don't want to recieve a single cent from a service like that....
RE: msgplus NEWS by uberdosis on 09-16-2005 at 06:15 AM

What does any of this have to do with 'msgplus NEWS'

RE: msgplus NEWS by uberdosis on 09-16-2005 at 01:17 PM

I was talking about the first post.

RE: msgplus NEWS by ShawnZ on 09-16-2005 at 01:17 PM

As was I

RE: msgplus NEWS by uberdosis on 09-16-2005 at 01:30 PM

Then back to my original  question (mainly focused at the first poster although its obious it has nothing to do with msgplus NEWS).. What does any of this have to do with 'msgplus NEWS'?

RE: msgplus NEWS by Menthix on 09-16-2005 at 01:59 PM

The first post was more then 1.5 months ago, i don't think he's around t anwser. Like you say yourself, it's obvious this isn't any MsgPlus! News. So it has nothing todo with is. Bad choosen topic title, wouldn't be the first time it happens.
