can I use Plus! ONLY with Windows Messenger? by veblen on 07-25-2005 at 08:02 PM

...even though I have MSN Messenger also installed?

I use Windows Messenger for work (SIP) and I use MSN Messenger for personal contacts.  Since MSN already does chat logging, I want to install Plus! for Windows Messenger, to be able to log chats.

Is this possible?

No once Messenger Plus! detects that either of the clients are running it will automatically hook them.

What you can try and do is for the MSN Messenger account disable all of the options for Plus! that you possibly can.

Gives me an idea... Patchou if you read this... You should make a feature in the new version that allows you to disable Plus!... or one that disables Plus! to some users (like ones that don't want it) and then users that want it can enable it... I think it would be a good idea... also it would help all the people that seem to want plus! for them and no one else on their puter ;) haha...

well, the thing is: I still don't understand why you would want to disable Plus! in one of your clients given the fact that most options are turned off by default.... can anyone give me a good reason? :)

Lol... Like the original poster put ;) haha... He wants it for Windows Messenger and not MSN Messenger ;)... He could have Plus! Turned on when he uses windows messenger, and turned off when he uses MSN... I personally don't think I'd ever turn off MSG Plus!... But a few other people who have posted on the forums have talked about it! lol....
