the man in which the famous words: "beam me up scotty" were directed to, has passed on,

at the young age of 85, James Doohan, has passed on due to pneumonia and Alzheimer's disease, he will be missed and and morned by millions around the world

so i give a final salut, Beam me up Scotty

i dont think so i've watch almost every episode of the simpsons and have passed many trivia quizes

its sad when people die... but it seems like a bigger loss when its people that are kind of legends, because its like a legendary phrase *-)

it was a famous like in star trek, the original serise, it was usual say by captian kirk(william shatner), to scotty, when they needed to be transported, or beemed up from teh surface of a planet

I never saw star-trek.  Don't plan to either, I like Star Wars though.  Still that stinks that he died:(

Actually it wasn't...they didn't actually say that in the entire series...which I found quite weird. I'm personally more of a fan of the later Star Trek's because they're always on TV, but I really liked the movies and several of the original episodes, so its really sad to hear that one of the people that made the show so great is gone...

I found that wierd as well that that line was never said. It's a real shame that he died because he was great on star trek. He was a Canadian, but thought that a Scottish accent sounded better, so used it.

He called his auto-biography "Beam me up Scotty" as well.
