1337 filter by Supersonicdarky on 07-26-2005 at 12:46 AM

I really hate when people on msn talk in 1337. I was hoping it was possible to either have a filter that will either filter it to something like "User is usinng 1337" or change it to normal english. :)

well you could use Plus! word filter to replace them :)

RE: 1337 filter by M73A on 07-26-2005 at 12:48 AM

lol
never had that problem personaly:P

* M73A thinks of making an auto talker to change a normal message to a 1337 message *-)

way to many words to flter out, unless you can do multiple at the same time (which u can't)

Translation...
It might a little diffitcult because of the plugin for MSG plus that leets every message and letter like i am doing right now. You are going to have to like find out all the caracters of every letter that is leeted the filter it.

RE: 1337 filter by Supersonicdarky on 07-26-2005 at 01:01 AM

maybe it can just block out the words which aren't properly spelled or use something other than letters

Crazy idea: you can tell this person to stop talking to you in 1337. *-)

RE: 1337 filter by multimillion2k on 07-26-2005 at 01:20 AM

If they are using l33t speech in Messenger it's possible they're using a plugin, like StuffPlug's auto-talker. If that's the case I guess it would be easier to translate it. In the message above, it looks like each letter is replaced by the same character.

RE: 1337 filter by Supersonicdarky on 07-26-2005 at 01:24 AM

no, he uses a mac

RE: 1337 filter by Maniac on 07-26-2005 at 01:28 AM

then he really IS speaking in leet and it is possible IN THEORY to do this but there are various ways to "leetify" each word... so you need to put every possible leet word which is just CRAZY!

You can't translate letter by letter because all the numbers will become letters and other weird stuff...

RE: 1337 filter by multimillion2k on 07-26-2005 at 01:35 AM

Does he actually type leet? That's funny - to me, people who use leet speech all the time seem like wannabes.
I think Regexp's suggestion is the best. Just ask the guy to stop. If that doesn't work, fight fire with fire and use an auto-talker. You could P\/\/[]\[] this [\]0oB LÀ[\/]3r. Maybe he'll stop when he realises how irritating it is.
On the other hand, it could encourage him too :|
