I'm in the mood for a new game so I want to pick up a new computer game but I don't have the internet yet for an online game so I need a game with a great single player. I'm open to all suggestions except for sports games.

Halo and the Half-Lifes

I already have the Half Lifes and I've beat Halo on the Xbox multiple times with a friend so ya. :\

I played a lil bit of PoP:WW before those on PS2 and it was fun. Wouldn't it be hard to control the prince with a keyboard though?

I remmber playing prince of persia for dos when I was very young. The sound board I had wasn't good. It was no beter then the PC speaker. I think it was called a Thunder Board.

You could always sell your soul to The Sims 2 ... or if you haven't already, buy Burnout 3 for the XBX <3 Burnout.

You could also wait a few days (16th) for Dungeon Siege 2 to come out.

And of the Command and Conquer games. The missions are always hard, and there are so many. Not to mention the skirmish mode, where you can go against lots of AI players at once.

I would also recommend the Battlefield games. While they are mainly designed for multiplayer playing, their single-player mode works the same, but instead of the other players being other people around the globe, they are controlled by the AI. It can get a bit repetitive after a while though, especially when you learn the way the AI likes to attack.

Sim City 4 + Rush Hour expansion is great if you like games like Sim City. I often play it, and before I know it, 4 hours have passed.

If you like motor sport, Toca Race Driver 2 is an awesome game, and GP4 can take a good 3 hours of your life at a time (assuming you do the full 50+ laps).

I had 56k for a long time, so I have played many of these games prior to having the ability for multi-player. Even though I now have DSL, I still prefer to play most of them in their single player modes.

Another classic great game you could go for is Morrowind I used to spend hours playing that+Warcraft 3 TFT

Go Doom 95 the original  great game can't beat it.

Flat Out!

Knights of the Old Republic 2 or Command & Conqueror Generals: Zero Hour. Best two games in the last five years.

Doom 3 is a must, although your specs have to be pretty good for it
it barely runs on mine

Doom3 is good single player, i completed it after playing it non-stop fro a about a week! Its scary but only as afr as it makes you jump! The end boss is wicked but nightmare mode i dont see the point of, your health goes down by itself!
