Problem with CNET sites by Chris4 on 08-08-2005 at 01:44 PM

For some reason, I can't access any websites owned by CNET

Here's some of the sites:
www.download.com
www.cnet.com
www.help.com
www.com.com
news.com.com
www.browsers.com

In Internet Explorer, I get:

quote:
Page can't be displayed

In firefox, I get:
quote:
Net Reset Error

The link to the site was dropped unexpectedly while negotiating a connection or transferring data. This may be due to a network fault somewhere between the site and your computer. If the problem persists, consult your system documentation, administrator or Internet Service Provider (ISP) as appropriate for further assistance.

I just asked my friend and he said he can't view them either.

Anyone else got this problem?
It seems to work, then doesn't work, then works etc.
About a month ago it didn't work. 2 days ago it worked. Now it isn't??

check your hosts file

I can access them all fine, so it probably is something to do with your hosts file or other security settings.

Don't forget http://www.com.com, http://i.com.com and http://news.com.com.com.com.com.com.com.com.com :)

Hehe, seriously though, I can access them just fine. If your running PeerGuardian, add them to your whitelist.
