Moving sounds/etc to another computer by krystalevenstar on 08-09-2005 at 02:16 AM

Hello! I've been a long time user of Messenger plus, but this is the first time I've needed to come to the forums ^-^. I have a question. I just purchased a laptop the other day and I already download MSN/Plus to the new computer. Today I networked my old computer to the laptop so I could begin to transfer my files. Is there any way that I can send all the custom sounds/emotes I have on my desktop, to the laptop? I really don't want to have to have my friends send them all to me one by one, lol. Is there a folder on the hard drive somewhere that they are stored and I could copy to my new computer? Any/All help will be greatly appreciated ^_^

Yes, you could create a soundpack including ALL the sounds you have, and then you save it somewhere, and import it into MsgPlus!, for moving files, it is WAAAY longer/harder, so you better off making a soundpack.

How would I go about making one?
And does this go for emotes too?

it does nto go for emoticons too..

goto add a sound but tick the box that says export sounds to soundpack or create soundpack... then select what you want..

so basically I'm going to have to add the emotes one by one again? :S Oh well, lol. I'm extremely happy about the sounds though ^_^

No, i think if you find your ID number using the program attached and find it in:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\<id number>

and look for the custom emoticon file you can copy it across.
