Im looking for a decent free video editing software, i have some videos of my band but i need to edit the brightness and add text, ive googled but there seems to be many abd tried a few which were crap, so im looking for some opinions on ones that people have tried

How about Windows Movie Maker? or Camtasia Studio has a feature you can use for 30 days :)

i dont like the way windows media player makes lots of clips

erm you could use the timeline in stead of story board feature in WMM? it doesnt look split then if thats what u mean?

You can disable the splitting in MM, not sure where, but it's possible i've done it :P

Adobe Premier is without a doubt the best, but very hard to get hold of for free. I do believe they do a demo though.
I got the not sposed to be free version but it was.

I tried Adobe Premier, but it didn't work for me :(, It wouldn't save the projects I made it would just crash...

Argh, gutted. Have you tried pinnacle, I'm not fond of there software, but it wasn't all that bad. it did the trick and had some great transitions

Nah, I just used Movie Maker, did the trick too, and is VERY easy to use :P

I like movie maker to, but only for the simple stuff. I wouldnt use it for my final product
