MSN Account Problem by mwe99 on 08-22-2005 at 08:38 PM

Okay i got randomly signed my main account about 10 mins ago. I tried to sign in to my other accounts and they work fine. I tried webmessenger and e-messenger but still it says its an error. Service being temp unavaliable. But i checked status and it says its working fine.

Anyone else had this problem/has a solution?

Did you exit MSN Messenger and re-open it again?

Sometimes some servers are busy/not working (and this doesn't show in the status page), and I've read you need to restart MSN Messenger for it to try in another server.

Maybe you should do that thing we all hate and contact MSN Support or wait a while.

If it's not a Hotmail account, did you go to the Passport.net site to see if you can login? Or can you view your mailbox (if Hotmail)?

You could try closing and re-opening your account at Passport.net. *-) Maybe it'll reset something. (Search around for the 250MB Hotmail trick, as it explains how to do it, in case you don't know)

Edit: It doesn't delete your emails or contacts or whatever, so it's a safe try.

Edit 2: This is, of course, if you're desperate or this has been going on for a long while (not just 10 mins ).

It's posted on the Community Newsgroups at MS so i guess its a big problem

RE: MSN Account Problem by Shu on 08-22-2005 at 09:08 PM

it can't be hotmail, i don't have an hotmail account :p
it could be net passport, or the computer ...

i can't reboot i'm downloading lot's of stuff

i can't disconnect (same reason)

have you tried both of those?

RE: MSN Account Problem by user35870 on 08-22-2005 at 09:11 PM

I had the same problem a couple of minutes a go.Then I got in and the contact list was blank. Then I signed out and in again and its all working again.

I suggest just give a while most likely a server problem....

Windows Version: Windows XP, 5.01.2600
Messenger Client Version: 7.0.0816
Messenger Plus! Version: 3.54.0132
