Windows xp programs... by Lou on 08-23-2005 at 04:41 PM

My windows just went crazy on me so I am backing up all my files, but I was going to reinstall a fresh copy soon anyway. I want your opinion on what programs I should get when I install the new copy. These include anti-virus, anti-spyware and stuff for security. Any programs you really like and think would be useful for me.

And yes I will be installing msn messenger and Plus! so don't bother putting that in your list:P

All help/opinion is appreciated.

EDIt: I also already use Firefox :P

EDIT2: winrar, winzip are a must imo, and also the types of programs I want are security, and possibly useful ones for my website:D

You didn't say what kind(s) of programs you'd like to install. As a visual artist, i would install graphics and media editing software. Please be more specific when asking such information.

A plain user shouldn't need more than Firefox, NOd32, Sygate and cmd.exe.
:P

I:
  1. Don't have an ipod and,
  2. Uninstalled it I am now using good old musicmatch..

Only reason I was using winamp was cause it would go in personal message but I dont need that anymore:P
