VISTA INSPIRATE (The troubles began) by zaher1988 on 08-26-2005 at 03:53 PM

Hey,

Vista Inspirat Shell Pack is a complete custom shell pack for all Windows XP.
Ok easy to install, and good appearance, easy to update or remove.

i know there is an already post about it , But scroll down!

Here some ScreenShots

More in http://en.crystalxp.net/bricopack-vista-inspirat.php

Pretty COOL yeah!!

BUT

It as anysotware it has problems, for example

A very commen issue with this program is when the VISTA theme or visual Style wont appeare, so they tell u to go the the Windows>Resources and click on VISTA fie, but also this wont work!

Another solution, You will have to download the Multi-Patcher that will patch UXTheme.dll for Windows XP/SP1/SP2 Beta/RTM and 2003 and allows you to use un-signed custom visual styles.

But this also wont work , in my case, when i had to restart my pc after patching! i was surprized with the WINLOGON.EXE error, so Can't access again to my pc!

Now it's a big trouble.

VISTA INSPIRATE provides u the possibity to remove it from the Recovery Consol of Win Xp just with typing BATCH BricoPackUnint.txt. but thi also wont help!

so after some searching i found that you can find another WINLOGON.EXE in windows>ServicePackFiles>i386.
and good it worked, but still getting an error about winlogon.exe, and asking to send or dont send it, i dont know if it will appear after i restart my pc now!(Any one knows??)

Ok also this program has other little problem but they are not that important.

Anyone tried it before? and does anyone has a solution for the Visual Style issue, coz at their forum no one replies:P !

Also i really recommand it coz as u see , it looks cool but before enjoying the COOL of it, u should live nervous minutes :P .

Hope u will enjoy it!

Never ever EVER copy files out of ServicePackFiles to repair your system.

why i shouldn't copy files from servicepackfiles to repair? i mean it worked! coz i tried to copy the same file from another pc but it didn't work.

sec i can't repair my windows automatily from the installation CD coz i have SP2 and repair wont work coz the cd i have is SP1a.

Obv I am aware of this, but out of interest, where do you copy form (pesuming you dont have a windows CD, only a crappy HP Recovery one ;) )

Vista Inspirat pack works fine here.

Before installing the pack, my uxtheme.dll was already patched and File Protection was disabled.

I used UXTheme Multi-Patcher (Neowin Edition) 4.0 for the uxtheme.dll file

And I disabled the file protection manually:

code:
The key in question is called SFCDisable, and is located at:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Change the value to 0x00000000 to enable and to 0xFFFFFF9D to disable

About Vista Inspirate:

It works fine. I installed it and uninstalled it without any complications...

RE: VISTA INSPIRATE (The troubles began) by expert on 08-28-2005 at 08:22 PM

does it change your boot screen?

RE: VISTA INSPIRATE (The troubles began) by zaher1988 on 08-28-2005 at 08:31 PM

what do u mean by boot screen!? the loading bar, or the logon screen? in both case no it doesn't :D

RE: VISTA INSPIRATE (The troubles began) by user13774 on 08-29-2005 at 03:44 PM

That's not true zaher1988. It won't change your bootscreen (with the Win XP logo and the loading bar), but it will change your logon/welcome screen. If I'm not mistaken you have to select during the installation whether you want to change the logon screen or not. (I can't check it right now cuz the site is offline)

RE: VISTA INSPIRATE (The troubles began) by zaher1988 on 08-29-2005 at 03:48 PM

no markus i said it didn't change , !! got what i mean :)

There's no need if theres a picture of the new logon screen in his screenshots in the first post?

No, you probably broke something after you realized that the transformation pack didnt work. Either that or it did. The uxtheme patch didn't.

RE: VISTA INSPIRATE (The troubles began) by zaher1988 on 08-29-2005 at 04:16 PM

no i dont think!

Look i installed the vista inspirate , and after the restart, all was working fine , except that the visual styles were the same old, so i searched for the proper solution, they told me u have to use the uxtheme patch, so i downloaded it, and clicked it. when i made the restart i was surprized when i got that error in winlogo.exe
