firefox users should check this out ! by guanako on 08-27-2005 at 05:30 AM

i found this firefox optimizer it really makes firefox faster and better

What does FireTune do?
According to your specific computer speed and internet connection speed, FireTune will optimize several internal settings of Firefox for better performance. FireTune does NOT modify the Firefox executable, or any other Firefox binary file. Everything can be undone easily provided you saved your original profile configuration file with FireTune's profile backup feature before.

For such programs, if it doesn't work for one person, it doesn't nessecairly means it wont work for anybody.

It might be well possible that no optimizations could be done, because you already had everything optimized.

Also, such programs aren't the holy grale; they won't boost your internet speed at all. They only could set some options so your browser downloads multiple files at the same time (but by doing so spreading the available bandwidth of course, as that can't be increased as it depends on what you get from your ISP). This is sometimes called "piping".

Or they could set some settings so it download pages in the background while you are still reading another page or answering a dialog box or something... That kind of stuff.

As for this particular program, it is nothing more than a beefed up options/settings wizard for firefox. If you know most of the settings of firefox already, chances are this program wont change a thing...

Compare it to the configuration wizard of Messenger Plus!; it only helps you make some correct settings in a fancy way, nothing more...
