I was just wondering if there is anyways to remove the "MSN Messenger" tab from the taskbar, but still have it open, for example like winamp, how u can have it open and in the preferences u can remove it from taskbar, so that it doesnt show in the taskbar below

As in the little icon to say its running?

Theres not a way that i know of because you need it there to click when its closed

As far as I know, there's no way of doing this without hacking or playing in something.

But if what you need is to ide the fact you are using msn, you can use the Boss Lock command.

not the system tray one, but yea only reason i was thinkin about it was because of the fact that i always have it open and it consumes the taskbar space, ill attach a screenshot to show wot i mean

You don't need to keep it open, just close the main MSN Messenger window (ALT-F4 or pressing the red cross in the right upper corner or choosing close in the file menu) and the taskbar button will be gone.

If you need the contactlist, double click on the systemtray icon..

I thought you were talking on the icon next to the clock. :S

Sorry, I misunderstood, but yes, as Cookie said, there's no need to keep it open, you can close it down, and if you still want to be able to see your contact list, add your contacts to your desktop by right clicking your contact on your list, choosing Plus! and selecting "Show On Desktop". Although, Im not sure if that will help anything when it comes to memory usage :S..

or you can use the plugin called sth like windock or sumthin
i forgot lol
it docks msn and stuff and gets rid of the taskbar tab
