When I added Messenger Plus, I got all these extra things in my favourites folder, such as "Cool Stuff" and "Travel", that I can neither move nor delete. Does anyone know how to get rid of them?

I think you might have installed the optional sponsor.. although I am not sure, if you have, you can follow the instructions here to remove it safely :
