System Standby by tbone2584 on 08-30-2005 at 11:33 PM

Alright, well the last couple of times I have put my computer into standby mode, there is a few second delay then my computer turns itself back on 8o| then when i try and turn my computer off, it then says that warning about still being logged in and losing info, blah blah blah. Anyways, i was wondering if there is anyone that can help me with why my computer powers itself back on after standby.

it might be that your moving your mouse. with me if i put my comp in sleep mode it wakes up as soon as i move my keyboard tray.

to stop teh mouse from waking your computer go into mouse in the control panel and go to the hardware tab, then click on your mouse and choose properties, and under the power management tab you can disable the waking from standby.

to wake the computer you just have to press a key on the keyboard.

Well i can say that it is DEFINITELY not my mouse. First off, i have a laptop with a touchpad mouse where i am nowhere near it when i put the computer in standby...any other ideas?

start> right click my computer> properties> hardware> device manager> network cards> select your NIC> right click> properties> advanced> uncheck the 'wake up' one

Might be conflicting with your BIOS too; some BIOS' have power management settings as well.
