Docking to side like ICQ?? How? by 1ns4nity on 09-06-2005 at 02:35 AM

Hi,

I am a new user of msn and wanted  to find a way to dock the contact list to the side of my screen just like the way ICQ does (when it docks, all windows can no longer expand into the space of the screen ICQ occupies). I thought that is what Messenger Plus! 3 was able to do but I was wrong. Is this possible to achieve with any combination of plugins or apps? THanks.

Check this plug-in out... It might help with what your looking for.

The Window Manager Plugin (dock, autohide).... it can be found here:

ICQ changes the usable screen size of the desktop so when you maximize a window it will not overlap or underlap (so to speak) the window.

Basically, it's like having the Windows Start bar, but only it's ICQ (or MSN)

Yups. thats right. Problem now is the plugin does not work properly, now my msn messenger contact list keeps disappearing! I think i'm going to have to uninstall messenger and messenger plus and start all over again :(

well it keeps disapearing because you have setup the Auot-hide mode in the plugin, you should go to preferences and choose dock mode instead, that should fix everything, hopefully
