When is patchou going to announce his new project, that he mentioned in the "Gtalk plus? an addon by juzzi" thread.

He said it would be soon, i can't wait

well i emailed google, who forwarded the email onto their google talk team. the general gist of the email was

Gtalk is great at the moment, to make it the best client ever add

• Fast simple webcam
  
• Graphical Emoticons
  
• File Transfer

ya, better webcam support would kick f'ing ass, i hope there gonna expand their im a bit

i also hate how google releases things in beta, they do it to make people seem important, thats like their thing, they almost never leave beta. i think they should release there stuff and not say its a beta, like gmail ISNT BETA anymore, i dunno, i just dont like how they do that

It actually shows that they want to do things right if you think about it....

Some companies never bother with ANY Beta, then wonder why they get thousands of bug reports afterwards. Google are making sure that all bugs are ironed out, before releasing it as final.

The whole point of a Beta edition, is to test. To see how the software reacts to different systems. (ever had a game where it crashes everytime you do one thing? thats something that should be removed with beta testing...)

Gmail has been in Beta for a long time, and unless they are planning on adding more features soon, it should come out of it soon, IMO (especially as it is web software).

Unless you're Microsoft, in which case you call it a 'Technology Preview', as they did with Messenger 7.5.

gmail is still Beta, despite several people claiming othrewise.  Just because you can now ge one by giving Google your mobile number (adverts on your mobile, coming soon) doesn't mean it's left Beta.  Log into gmail & look at the top left, it's still saying BETA.  I have taken part in BETA tests for lots of software & games and some Alpha tests too and 9/10 of them have gone retail in the amount of time it has taken gmail to reach where it is now.

gmail is stable, has been for ages, they really should start removing products from Beta soon.  I'll admit to using gmail, gogle search (not exclusively tho) and used Google Talk for a day but I won't use it while MSN (combined with Plus!) has more people on it, better features & a better look.
