info from wired magazine, up to the reader to try some of the websites mentioned above

The internet is all about freedom of speach, and although people abuse this, there are a lot of people who use it to express their opinions in good ways. It's hard to censor it in full like these dodgy regiems try to, I really can't stand these governments who do stuff like that.

It sounds like The Patriots plan from MGS 2 (that being filter anything that they don't want us knowing).

Yeah it's bs and people shouldn't stand for their government controling them.

I can't see why one of those blocklists includes eBay.

Most of the the middle east countries block porn/un islamic websites..

Have you heard of Freenet ? You can publish anything without disclosing your identity. It will hit web soon. It uses a decentralized/dynamic storage, were parts data is stored at different locations. Even if the authorities sieze up a computer, they cannot identify the data. Data is send through web using 128 bit encryption. Data is not even searchable using google or any other search tools as it is encrypted.

Freenet is meant for people who dont have freedom of speech (in certain countries)... but can be easily misused

Edit

It's good to see free speech isn't being quashed in the Middle East </sarcasm>

I don't know much about Islam, but isn't one of the things to do with accepting people for who they are? Actually, that's probably common across all religions.
