Reputation Minimum by qgroessl on 09-16-2005 at 02:10 AM

Hey! I was going to make a rep that said "spams alot" but that must not have been long enough or something.... I got a dialogue about having to have a good reason for a rep.... I was wondering if there's a minimum character limit or something? Or a minimum number of words or something?

If there is one (I'm sure there is) when was it put in? I've never seen it before.

They are talking about the reputation minimum, not maximum.

Anyhow, I dont think its needed. The whole purpose of the reputation system is to give users feedback on how they act in this community. To  give them a sturdy point and back it up, you should need atleast half this...

"You spam to much. Check this link and this link, those arent really helping that person, more derogitory then helpful"

Thats about 32 characters including spaces. :-/

Nah, myCode is disabled in the reputation forms. Because one img tag could mess it all up.

But still, you have to give enough information so the user can understand his problem. Simply saying "No good posts" isnt enough.

I agree, because stuff like that will just make the other person think you just put that because you dislike them.
Only possible solutionsare really sending them a private message or something like that.
It really needs to be lenthened

The repuation length is fine. It doesn't need to be meddled with. The maximum length is perfect

There doesn't need to be a minimum. If the rep giver clearly states the reason why he/she is giving the rep with clear reason and its within the rules, then theres no problem if its short or not.

If you don't like the rep because you think it doesn't explain why you've recieved it, then pm an admin to delete it
