PC Unbearably slow... by spokes on 09-29-2005 at 03:12 PM

I'm guessing it's adware

my pc started being really slow this morning, have no idea why, but i can't use Ctrl+Alt+Del, ran an adaware scan, deleted all of it, but when i got home from, school, it's all there again, with about 6 ads on the screen. Any one got any suggestions

o, btw, i can only use AdAware in safe mode because it crashes otherwise

my not just be adware, could be a virus of some sort. try using spybot. and also scan your computer using your antivirus if you have one. if not google online virus scans and choose the first one

can't use spybot, crashes when updating, cant update in safe mode because of no internet connection

I don't like recomending BETA software to people, but you could try Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Also could you post a list of all your active processes before + after you think you've gotten rid of it like you did before?

i can't see a list of my processes, i'm taking it a virus is blocking that program, if you want to recommend an alternative tho :)

You can view your processes by pressing control + alt + delete and clicking on the processes tab. Alternatively this program can let you get a text version of your current processes. Also don't forget to try the Micrsoft AntiSpyware BETA idea; this program may work if it is a piece of spyware\adware in its definition list.
