Loading JAVA applet Faild by zaher1988 on 09-29-2005 at 09:41 PM

Ok umm i dont know when this happend or why.

But i'm trying to open a site that contains a java applet but this applet didnt load, so i tried another site , also same thing.

so then went to internet options , check the security options, all is fine and java is allowed, same in Advanced option all are ticked.

so then i decided to check a local java applet, so i opened a page on my computer , that also has a java applet , and it worked.

so what may cause that, do i have to update the java runtime! or what, i dont think that, cause local appletes worked:s

i have no fire wall, and i just have AV and MASW

Thanks in advance

edit:this is what i get in the java consol

There are still websites basing applets on Microsoft Java, not Sun Java...wich might be why some java applets load and others may not.

If you think it's only you, post a link to that specific website so others can try too.

RE: Loading JAVA applet Faild by zaher1988 on 09-30-2005 at 11:34 AM

ok hey , no Sunshine, the same websites used to work just days ago!! for example http://www.auditmypc.com/internet-speed-test.asp , and i again repeat :) the if i'm browsing local java applets to be more specific , in my documents i have an IRC chat example, and it's java, when i open the html file the java applet loads, but the same file if it's online it doesn't. NB not only this file  for example the link i mentioned up is also another sample.

thanks in advance

That applet loads for me, could you have accidently told your browser not to open java applets? I know i can in my browser (Avant), it's in the list under settings for me.

RE: Loading JAVA applet Faild by zaher1988 on 09-30-2005 at 02:31 PM

but my broweser open local java applets

RE: Loading JAVA applet Faild by rav0 on 10-02-2005 at 01:51 AM

If you are sure that you're security settings are allowing Java applets, check that a firewall isn't blocking them.

I'm not sure, but there might be seperate settings for different zones. Check the security tab in Internet Options, instead of the advanced tab.

The JRE must be installed and working properly, because your local applet is loading. The same applet isn't wouking online, in any browser, so I'm guessing it is a firewall blocking thrm from reaching you're computer at all.

RE: Loading JAVA applet Faild by Hank on 10-02-2005 at 01:57 AM

what java are you using JRE 1.5.0.05b?

RE: Loading JAVA applet Faild by zaher1988 on 10-02-2005 at 01:36 PM

Ok hey , i check the setting and again as i mentioned all is allow, everything related to java is allowed.

Sec i have no firewall , i just have anti spyware programs. like microsoft asw, umm regarding the version,  i'm using 1.5.0_04b05 . i dont know if it's same as u mentioned animal.

thx in advance

RE: Loading JAVA applet Faild by Hank on 10-02-2005 at 01:54 PM

I am unable to use java in any other browser than Avant :S. I am not sure why this is. I have tryed all the setting and i just get the error at the begging of this thread.

Download Avant HERE.
RE: Loading JAVA applet Faild by zaher1988 on 10-07-2005 at 10:48 PM

ok it worked on Avant, but not on IE or ME ,

so umm what should i do to make it working on ie, reinstall it ?
any other way :S ?

RE: Loading JAVA applet Faild by Sunshine on 10-07-2005 at 11:55 PM

It works in any browser for me, also Avant is based on the IE engine. Tested in IE, Avant, Opera and FF.

I think the first step would be to update Windows (esp. make sure the latest IE is installed). If it still aint working after that reinstall java again too (without any browser running at that time). Turn off AV, anti spyware and other programs that might interfere installation/writing to the registry in any way.
