Once you reach 100 posts then you are able give people reputation you can give them positives or negatives positives if they have done something good or you just genrally think that they are a good member, negatives if you think that they are a bit mean and unhelpfull etc...dont worry once people get to know you a bit im sure you will get some good things said about you :)

RE: Rep? by Nathan on 10-02-2005 at 12:01 PM

Reputation is when some one thinks there rude/spammer/or nice and helpful.
You want to try and not get in to the minus ( that is when someone rates you bad.
Nuetral=You ok but not bad enought to be a negative
Positive=Is when there helpful and polite etc.
Negative= is someone who either spams rude or ignorant and etc.
Hope it helps ;)

You imply that Neutral is "bad".

Its not. Neutral is Neutral. i.e not good or bad.

For example ive got a neutral saying im a lucky bastrad for winning a PSP. No bad connotations to that :)

RE: Rep? by SikStyles on 10-02-2005 at 05:01 PM

and remember, Reps arent everything, we have couple of members here who live in reps, just a little side tip, dont ever ask for one, then you will get a negative

other than that, welcome to the forums :)

Do you have to make 100 posts to be able to receive rep?

Yes, unless you're a beta tester, super moderator, elite member or administrator.

RE: Rep? by zaher1988 on 05-12-2006 at 06:49 PM

then it should be like that, because how can you give reputation for someone who did nothing yet!!?? ur rep will be based on what?
this also abuse the rep guidlines.

However in the default mybb rep system you can't give rep to any unless he/she has done at least 1 post. That's also the case with ARS2. I dont know about this, but i guess this is a bug in this system (logic one) it should be fixed

regards

RE: Rep? by qgroessl on 05-12-2006 at 07:29 PM

What?... You mean what WDZ said.... yeah.... I've seen a lot of reps given to people that they know are friends even though they've never posted before.

But these are not right/fair reps. it mean it is basesed on the friendship and does not at all reflect the work of that person on msghelp forums

How about IRC, someone could be a good helper on there, but have never posted on the forums, yet people still might want to give them a rep.
Anyway, there isn't a problem with people repping people with no posts, and if you ever see someone with a dodgy rep, regardless of how much they've posted, you can report it. So i don't see why anything needs changing?

People send whacky unsolicited emails via the board, they deserve negtive rep.
