I was thinking it'd be great if you could get these forums on your phone, so you can catch up to people on the move.
Do you reckon theres a way?

view the lite version of the forums  in your phone i guess. I dont use the internet on my phone

If you have a phone which could surf the web, yes... Some people do this already, it simply works as if you're behind the PC (but a bit slower and smaller of course)...

it doesnt work though on mine i mean could it work on gprs or html?

Am I way off if I say that WAP uses Micro Browser, which can display information written in WML (based on XML) or WMLScript, not HTML?

Most phones that can browse the internet are setup for WAP AND HTML. Few phones discriminate between them.

Do you get an error trying to view the forums or are they just really hard to read?


I can say this much, Were not going to re-code anything to support the small minority that uses there mobile phone to view the forums.

No, cause it's just HTML, php is only important for the server

my old phone use to do sometihng like this. it showed HTML and XML websites, but if the site was to big (not in size, but the actual layout size) i would get a "document to big" error, i was spewing because i couldn't read bash.

Here in the netherlands you can surf on the internet with the Provider "Hi"

It let's you chat on MSN Messenger, surf on the real MSN.com, so surfing on The forums is now able 2...

What phone?

Your phone probably only supports WML - WAP Markup. Not HTML.

If that is the case, we're not going to be restructuring and recreating the forums for WAP use.

Does the phone support XHTML?

You need a phone supporting at least HTML, XHTML to view these forums correctly.

If your phone supports Java, i'd recommend using the Opera version for mobile phones (SymbianOS based phones can use one on the Opera site, other people you'll have to find a copy of the beta - it's initially in russian if that helps). Use Opera instead of the browser on your phone because their support is limited for the markup.

Displays it in all its graphical beauty
But I have to scroll across to see the whole page...and it takes ages to load
