oh, i feel even more like and idiot now.
if you want to buy books, a good VB one that i use is "Computing Projects In Visual Basic" by D. Christopher. my school gave that one to me and i have to say its good.
for C++, i recommend the Dev C++ compiler (http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html). and i got the book "C++ For Dummies"
please tell me thats what your looking for, if not im gonna go cry

RE: Programming by Reaper on 10-11-2005 at 03:27 PM

well i wouldnt know really cos i have only used C++ and VB, but i have to say VB is a lot easier than C++, so i would go for VB. i started off with VB aswell

RE: Programming by Reaper on 10-11-2005 at 03:34 PM

RE: Programming by YottabyteWizard on 10-11-2005 at 03:50 PM

I was just going to make this thread :'(

I started with Turbo Pascal and Turbo C because of computing subject in school, around 7th grade. I know these languajes perfectly, i know they suck but if didn't learn them i would fail. Also I have very little knowledge in C++ and nothing in VB, that's why i wanted to install it (remember my VB.Net setup problems post?but no luck).

Since the only languaje of nowadays I've used is C++, I can't give suggestions.

EDIT: Fixed some bad typing :$

vb.net is a good place to start :)

the simplicity of vb, with .net elements :)
