suggestion: disable custom smilies by Vladder on 10-11-2005 at 06:16 PM

Nowadays there are more and more people that have VERY anoying smilies.
or even worse, smilies that cover words..
like if somebody says "hi" that hi is an emoticon/smilie of a joint.

and im not the only one that would like this.. becouse a lot of people are complaining about this anoying smilies.

so an option to disable custom smilies, or the smilies that dont use "(" ")" or something similair like that.

Whaddayathink?

It already is a feature, of MSN itself

Lol,
im so used at msn having crappy options I didnt even notice it ;)
what about just emoticons that done use the "(" ")" and those kinda tags around em.
And the option for the other persons smilies (and a side option for the non tag "(" stuff :p

The 'Show Emoticons' box is for all emoticopns bundled with MSN. 'Show Custom Emoticons' is for all emoticons put in place by you or the end user. Note that custom emoticon will never show in your display name on the contact list.

What's the use of that? People can choose whatever shortcuts they like. This isn't going to help anything...

Far more usefull would be an option to disable/enable custom emoticons per contact instead.

Yeah! That I thought when reading Vladder's post.
It would be a nice feature for Patchou to add into MsgPlus! or for someone to add it in a plug-in.

Yea, sure everyone can use a shortcut they like.
To bad that there are tards that do it in a way that everything they write is changed into emoticons.

but yea, a per contact would be just as nice.
becouse atm its "all costum smilies" or none. (for both me and the contacts)

Its good everyones giving ideas and suggestions, but i think it would be a bit overloaded if we added all this "stuff" which can be solved without adding new features to the future version of plus. If you have a problem with your contacts smileys, just tell them you cant read what theyre saying and they should take them off if they want to talk to you :P STOP BEING LAZY !! lol

Yeah, stop being lazy....:P

but for lazy ppl like me, a feature where u can right click an emoticon and select "do not display THIS emotion" would be nice :)

an option to disable/enable custom emoticons per contact would be a very very interesting option.. sincerli I have some contact that become "irritating" with their f*** emoticons..
the unse an emoticon that represent an "N" and they associate it directly to the letter n.. and so whit many others letters or words..  btw the others contact don't do this and it's fine to recive a funny emoticons sometime..

so, I quote this suggestion!

(please, do it!)

bye
Lucio.
