MDX2 by The_Joker on 10-20-2005 at 12:30 PM

I just installed (and uninstalled) MDX2.
I want to know what r ur opinions about MDX.

Here is my impression of it:
MSNM, Plus!, SP, Phoenix,  SS3 & MSNRipper have most of MDX's features.
The only good feature is imitate (is it just me or it sometimes use another font and not the contact's? tried with Doctor Eightball bot and it wasn't like it at all).
The only thing I can say FOR it is that it the logo appears in the main window in RTL languages (Plus doesn't :().
And the most important thing is that MDX is extremely good in stucking my computer! (everything freezes for few minutes and then work again)

Messenger Discovery X
It just released a new version (2)
http://msgdiscovery.com

fixed link >.<

It is www.msgdiscovery.com ;)

This version has corrected a lot of bugs. Feels much more stable. But (wait for it) in the first 5 mins of testing I have found several bugs. And they weren't easily missed. As soon as their forum is back up I'll post them.

to be honest, it looks like an add-on where the author only wants money from. the site is full of not-always-true things (the features page, read the footer)

i'm not bothering. the features are not convincing and the lack of support for plugins is ridiculous.

yeh i think the plugin is rushed. Take time and make it safe and bug free. Few features, but nice gui and easy access is better than a buggy plugin with features already around in other plugins. :(

With all respect, but how long does it take to make something which works for everybody, doesn't relay on dirty hacks, etc...?

MessengerDiscovery has been going on for a few years now, and still there isn't a bugfree and above all solid version.

Small bugs or one thing, but big bugs, incompatibily problems, freezes, crashes, you named it, are another thing...

Over the years, people have continuously reported (serious) problems with this addon. Maybe it is time to seriously rethink the whole concept, start from scratch and make one feature at the time 100% working and test it seriously before working on another feature. And don't make empty promises or provide listings of many half-arsed features...

Long time ago, I once said I'll wait for judging this addon until it has matured a bit. Well, it hasn't really matured in my feeling at all. Nevertheless time has pasted and still there isn't a solid version, it still is buggy like hell, etc...

i wuz wondering about mdx2..is it fully compatible with msn 7.5.0306?
i like the features that mdx2 has provided..the the mdx2 looks good
at the begining i got logged in msn jst fine..but soon after dat i jst couldn't connect...when i took mdx2 off my msn signed in..
is it jst mine??

RE: MDX2 by Purity on 10-23-2005 at 06:49 AM

To me it's alot better and stable that previous compatibile versions for 6.2 and 7.0+

Ecko does need to get some stuff together, he rushes it too much.
Beta testing was a short period.  I have confronted him about this
many times, he never takes me seriously.

For starters, I know the 'Apply" and 'Ok' functions are switched around.

i.e. Click 'Ok' and it will save the settings. Click 'Apply" and it will save and close the options window.

I do hope one day before a release it is properly tested and all bugs found are fixed. MDX does have potential. It just isn't showing it at the moment.
