Disable display pictures? by Harwin on 10-28-2005 at 09:33 PM

Remember back in MSN 6?

When people log in, their display pictures werent shown in the login box?

Well, it seems that MSN starts lagging a lot when someone log in for me,
and since my list is quite packed it gets annoying, that MSN freezes for 2 seconds like 3 times every minute...

So, i am curious if there is a way to disable them (only on the login box though) or if you got any other good ideas on how to make MSN use less ram.

Thanks

you could se it at low priority?
crt+alt+del > procesers > right click on msn > Priority > Low.
That might work?

nope didnt work. For me it only slows down messenger... actualy it freazes, then unfreazes and when this happens... everyone who is online has a popup (toster) that they signed in and ends up taking up all the screen when everyone I know is online.

You can remove the Display Picture that's on the logon box with A-Patch.

...
why?

Because then it will have priority over every program running? Setting it higher just means it gets a higher share of the processor usage, and since im guessing no other programs are running at high levels, its the computer that can't handle it...

...so, all that increasing the priority is doing is preventing other programs from getting the processor.
