Display Screwed by John Anderton on 10-31-2005 at 04:40 PM

Some thing suddnely gave way and then my pc froze for about 10 secs .... it came back and it was in 640x480 and 4 bit colour

I didnt even know xp had 4 it colour :-/
But thats what it said under desktop>rt click>properties ....

Whats wrong .... its fixed now but this is more of a permanent problem with the pc randomly rebooting.

Microsoft's site thinks its cause of over heating of one of the following:

  1. Motherboard
  2. CPU (The Chip)
  3. Ram
  4. Power Supply (PSU)
    [/list]

But the ram is ok, motherboard .... i dunno .... CPU i dont think so but possibly and the PSU no idea again.

Any solutions .... tell me some apps to check out these problems

Update: Oops I forgot to upload the pic :P

The over heating thing was a reply by MS for by restarting problem. They are in the same thread cause i think they are linked.

As the box says, it's a problem with your display driver. Try to update them.

Don't know about the rebooting/overheating tho.

I use SpeedFan. Contrarly to it's name, it does alot more.

That happened to me when my video card started to go, so maybe that's the issue. 8-)
