Program Files Set To Read Only? by Stigmata on 11-13-2005 at 08:40 PM

I'm using the administrator account..

I'm sure this shouldn't be the case..

when i attempt to take it off read only... it says it has, but it doesn't...

Is this normal?

Edit: Another thing..when i try and view my program files, it shows no folders, and the loading mouse pointer is shown.... I've never waited long enough to see if they do show..

Have you tried accessing it through Command Prompt?

cd "C:/Program Files"
dir

If you still can't see anything, maybe it's some software which screwed the readonly stuff.  You better off trying to reset that using attrib.

bah, i was able to view my stuff by renaming folder.ttd (or whatever the filename is)

and yes, i can view the files through your method.

btw: the slash is \ not /
