i have a big problem with getting the msn sound alerts to work. it just
doesnt play sounds with new messages and stuff even though sounds are
set to be on. i know my sound card is working fine and all other sounds
on the computer work. ive tried the volume and everything too. when i
go into sound setting it plays the sound file as a preview but doesnt
work normally. im really confused and really need to get this working. ive tried everything. thanks in advance.

In Messenger, go to Tools > Options > Alerts and sounds, is "Play a sound when contacts sign in or send me a message" checked?

if that dosent work then you should maybe try to go to you taskbar and you see where the sound icon is? well click it and make sure nothing is on mute and everything is full volume. if that dosent work then make sure you dont have any sound programs running or and msgplus plugins messing msgplus up

ive tried both of those things. and the sound went wrong before i got msgplus so it cant be that. any other ideas?
