missing translation value by tomazb on 11-24-2005 at 01:54 PM

I think there is no translation for text AutoMessage (displayed at the beggining of come-back message). Or maybe I missed it?

Yep, indeed. But that has its reasons.

Messenger Plus! needs a fixed sequence of letters/words in order to reconize the message as an auto-message. In other words: if it is allowed to be translated, it can't be interpreted anymore as being an auto-message...

(the three commands for the default Quick texts are another (internal) example of this, as well as the ĞIğ in action messages.)

---------------------------------------------

EDIT:
[*] This said, you can change the "auto-message:" itself, locally (thus only what you see), using the Word Filtering feature. (Thus you can not change how the nickname is shown, or the order or whatever)

Plus! > Prefereces > Instant Messages > Word Filtering
and
http://www.msgplus.net/help_tutorials.php?tut=word-filtering

eg:   Filter this word: auto-message:
        Replace by: says (auto):
        tick "Messages you recieve"

i don't agree with that... The three names of the predefined quick texts can be translated and modified by the user (by just going to the preferences)... the fact is that Patchou asked the translators not to modify then, only the texts, not the names. Just to make sure that in a default installation all works in the same way in all languages.

The other examples (the ĞIğ in action messages and the Automessage thingy) are right. :)

Yes, but I also seem to remember that in one of the previous versions, if the three commands were translated, they will not be reconized as default quick-texts (or something) and would have actually overwritten the first three existing quick-texts when you reinstall with that specific language. If they weren't translated, they didn't overwrite already existing quick-texts. I can be wrong in that though, and maybe it was a normal bug...

(currently it doesn't do that anymore though)

oh yes, that's also true ;)
