Time stamps? by 021201110525 on 11-24-2005 at 11:35 PM

Is there any way in which I can timestamp my conversations?

get stuffplug at www.stuffplug.com
and type /xspoptions then goto conversations and then check the box next to add time stamp prefix

many thanks, so is it like:

%hour : %minute : %second ?

It's %H %M %S, so you could use something like [%H:%M:%S]

thanks :)!

is there a way of getting it to work on a 12hr clock and not a 24, with the AM / PM prefix too?

For more specific information regarding a function in StuffPlug, see the StuffPlug forums...

For the timestamp feature there is a thread on those forums:
http://www.stuffplug.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1328

TheBlasphemer (creator of StuffPlug) used the PHP timestamp tags in StuffPlug to make up the date/timestamp. It has been reported that all those tags would be available in StuffPlug (thus also %I for the 12h clock). But from reading that thread it seems they are not all already been added, but they will in the next version...

The best thing you can do is simply trying them out:
http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.strftime.php

Could you (Patchou) please add timestamps to the chat window too, since stuffplug development is hibernating and it really doesn't seem that hard to implement?

I've quitted stuffplug... that last beta that seemed to be temporary bust turned out to be "final"...

well, is it possible to do it?

i totally agree! StuffPlug is more of a zombie now! And this seems to be a very simple feature to do, not very demanding since plus already has timestamps on logs. That would be really cool to have this in the beta! and Final releases!

I heard the new Messenger will have timestamps on the chat window, maybe you could add a feature to edit the time format (12/24 AM... and so on) for the v8 and add it to the v7.5 and older...

timestamps in logs and timestamps in convo's are two totally different and totally unrelated things though. Adding timestamps to conversations isn't that strait forward.

You heared correctly.

Windows Live Messenger has timestamps in conversations. But they are indeed not editable (by normal means).

And really suck, they are at the right ("xxx says (12:00:00 a.m.):") and you can't customize them. I hope they change that, so we can put them IRC style.

yes, i'd love that.

i'd love to hear something form patchou about bringing that to pre-v8 releases.
