microsoft works is an extended software it's not an OS,

so i'm talking about a program that u have installed:) well it may come with the installation package

so i recommend checking the add and remove in control panel

or even searching ur pc and uninstalling it

regards

Then reinstall it, and uninstall it using Add/Remove :) the setup package may be corrupt if you or another program altered it or attempted to delete it etc

To do this:

Press Print Screen button on your keyboard

Open MSPaint... Edit > Paste

Upload to http://www.imageshack.us and select Hotlink 1 and paste it into a post

no it actually loads on the desktop like an alert like a normal error message.

Edit: going offline now be back on tommorow to see if you've come up with anything new, thanks for all your help so far.

Try a spyware/adware scan because that error message doesnt look like an official error. (Shocking Grammer and when you google the error code you only get some ebay results and a thread on neowin that you posted :P)

RE: Help plz? by ibisdevil2 on 11-26-2005 at 09:47 AM

Yea sorry about the grammer, no its not adware/spyware because i just formated my harddrive then re-installed windows, the first time i loged on that came up.

RE: Help plz? by ddunk on 11-26-2005 at 09:58 AM

That's definately not an official error message which leads me to believe you're using a warezed copy of XP if it came up the first time you logged in, are you?

RE: Help plz? by Underlord on 11-26-2005 at 11:04 AM

Is Works 6.0 supposed to be included with you OS?

RE: Help plz? by ibisdevil2 on 11-26-2005 at 06:28 PM

well its all official software i got the pc form pcworld.

RE: Help plz? by Menthix on 11-26-2005 at 06:49 PM

So you formatted your entire harddriver > put in the cd > installed Windows > first time you login at Windows you get the error message about Works?

Did you get Works CD(s) together with the Windows CD? I guess it is a CD that came with your PC with preloaded software, that can explain it.

Contact the store if it still doesn't work after you put in the Works CD and follow the onscreen instructions. I guess that's PCworld in this case. CDs with preloaded software are different per vendor and it's hard for us to help you with that.
