Good Instrumental Bands by qgroessl on 11-25-2005 at 11:12 PM

I'm wondering if anybody knows any good instrumental bands... like the Canadian Brass Choir... or somebody like Kenny G... I've been looking for things to download on my computer but I can't think of anybody else.

EDIT:... Oh, and some trumpet solos... There's one that played at my neighbors wedding a couple years back, but I can't remember what it was... Then one of the highschoolers played it a couple years ago... he was really good...

You'd want Nightwish and Apocalyptica

RE: Good Instrumental Bands by vacuumo on 11-26-2005 at 01:37 AM

Finch. An old 70's instrumental progressive rock band, not to be confused with the shitty US band. I'd highly recommned them. That is, assuming you can find some.

Anybody got any more?.. so far so good.
RE: Good Instrumental Bands by Voldemort on 11-26-2005 at 04:27 AM

Apocalyptica is the best band ever.

Is that the post you meant?... I didn't hear a trumpet throughout most of it.... I didn't listen to the very end cause I got kinda sick of it... The guitar part was pretty cool though.
RE: Good Instrumental Bands by emit on 11-26-2005 at 01:37 PM

no, he meant "the last post" - its a trumpet piece.

Oh and...  Yngwie Malmsteen... SIMPLY AMAZING! Wow!... That's really awesome for a guitar!

Try checking out "Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra"

I went to see them on 25th November at the Royal Albert Hall in London and it was an absolute blast.

PICTURES HERE: http://serenas.fotopic.net/c776046.html [taken by my co-attendee]

I've got a few of their albums and even a CD of a 'live' show does not do these people justice.

Not all guitar... I mean... any instrument solo... Saxophone, Trumpet, Flute, anything really... and any kind of band or orchestra... Like... a string ensemble... like Some sort of violin quartet or something!
RE: Good Instrumental Bands by bmtaylor on 11-30-2005 at 05:00 AM

Jools & Co Full Lineup:

Gilson Lavis [Drums]
Mark Flanagan [Guitar]
Dave Swift [Bass Guitar]
Jason McDermid / Chris Storr / Jon Scott [Trumpet]
Rico Rodriguez / Winston Rollins / Roger Goslyn [Trombone]
Nick Lunt [Baritone Saxaphone]
Phil Veacock / Michael 'Bammi' Rose / Fayyaz Virgi [Tenor Saxaphone]
Lisa Graham / Derek Nash [Alto Saxaphone]
Christopher Holland (Jools' younger brother) [Organ]

Damn, it looks like such a small amount of people on paper, but they sound like a orchestra 5 times the size in real life.

Now... if I search for Jools and Co I don't get much?... is that why you have people in bold?... Just search for them and I should get something?
RE: Good Instrumental Bands by bmtaylor on 11-30-2005 at 07:16 PM

Search for any of:

"Jools Holland"
"Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra"
"Tom Jones & Jools Holland"

RE: Good Instrumental Bands by Voldemort on 11-30-2005 at 09:27 PM

Bettovens 9th symphony perhaps?

RE: Good Instrumental Bands by qgroessl on 12-01-2005 at 02:34 AM

Now that I found the Jools Holland ones his stuff is all pretty catchy!...

Beetoven really isn't my liking :p... Bach is good though ;)

Best Bass player ever i reckon.

Haitan Fight Song (some of my favourite EVER solos)
Charlie Brown Theme Tune
Have you met miss Jones?
Summertime
