I'm not even going to go on with this, it's just my opinion... RE: John Lennon 1940-1980 by emit on 12-08-2005 at 09:32 PM
The Beatles are the greatest and most popular band ever. As well as the most prolific. They invented pop music by themselves. John Lennon was such an integral part of that, an off the cuff remark by Lennon himself once went along the lines that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. It's not far from the truth. Lennon was part of that. They started the great Abbey Road Studios and when the band split every single member managed a solo number one hit. Imagine, Woman, Happy Xmas (War is Over), Give Peace a Chance, Instant Karma!, (Just Like) Starting Over, Nobody Told Me; these are notable solo songs. I don't need to repeat the list of Beatles hits, do I? A great man, a great songwriter, a great mind, a genius, a sad loss. Whilst I may not have agreed with his political stance on some things, nor his infatuation with Yoko Ono who was behind the destruction of the Beatles, he was still one of the most influential contributors to music ever. Much respect for him, and the Beatles. RE: John Lennon 1940-1980 by Voldemort on 12-08-2005 at 10:07 PM
He was a good guy. RE: John Lennon 1940-1980 by Snake on 12-08-2005 at 10:28 PM Yes it's a tragedy. They have been playing his music on just about every radio station all day! RE: John Lennon 1940-1980 by paperless on 12-08-2005 at 10:30 PM Imagine if what he sang in this song had hapenned... RE: John Lennon 1940-1980 by SikStyles on 12-09-2005 at 02:26 AM The Beatles would have been nothing if John Lennon was not part of it, or any other member. They all were a huge part of the team. Without J. Lennon or any other member it would have been "The Beatles who?" |
