Its release date has not be clarfied yet since it is still in early beta stages.  although its rumoured ready in the first half of 2007 I think correct me if I'm wrong

Microsoft delayed it several times, but AFAIK i think the latest date is December 2006...So just buy your laptop with XP:tongue:

I dont think its worth waiting for, i think XP is good enough for the moment, and plus its along time to wait..:S

There's loads of decent laptops for that price ;)
Take a look at Dell's site: they usually have some sort of deal on.

I would buy your laptop from dell if I were you, they always use Intel Processors and their performance isn't too good... Try looking around some local shops, try getting a Laptop with an AMD processor in too, a good graphics card, and a lot of RAM/Space.

Media centres are only good if you want to use it to watch tv/dvds etc, if you just want a general use computer, then a media centre would be a complete waste of money... Just go for Windows XP Professional.

If that's correct than it will be 6 years since the last major Windows release. Which is then a very long time.
