need to know by couragous on 01-01-2006 at 11:05 AM

I had an account which i closed off because everytime i turned someone would add me from a different account with a romantic name and insult me(i knew it was same person ,they added me from 20 emails) ,my account was not posted anywhere and i had a gut feeling of who it would be .I even searched my email and it wasn't found .I now have a knew account and I made sure 100% I wouldn't post it anywhere and even my profile it doesn't allow anybody to add me .Now the whole mess is starting again with my knew account .My question is there any way it would some random person ,or does have to be someone that is on my contact list (somebody that knows me).I am being stalked online and want it to end ,where I live they don't consider this a crime .   P.s I also want to find out who the hell is harrassing me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if your email is not posted ANYWHERE then it must be a friend trying to sare you, or an enimie who has got hold of your email.
or
it could be a friend of yours who has given your addy out to some1 yo do not know or like, and so they are the one harassing you
are they harasing you through IM or email?

The most likely option is, someone on your contact list (or someone who knows someone who has the address you use for Messenger) is making random accounts to harras you for fun.
My advice is to make a new account and tell (or add) each of your contacts using your new address. If the problem ocours after a specific contact is added, or knows your adddress, you know that they are either directly or indirectly responcible.

Another, but more unlikely cause, is that some sort of trojan is running on your computer. Telling your address to a person (or more likely a bot), which is programed to harras you. If you already have a virus scanner use that to proform a scan, if not you can get a free one by clicking here.
However this is a much less likely cause, but still worth checking out.

Well... if he confronts the person about it... they could stop.

but he cant because he doesn't know who it is
and if he does it whilst they taking the P**S then he wont get anyway really.

Well unless they're really smart...

Look in your contact list for who is online and offline.
Note them down.
When this harrassing contact signs in... see if anyone has recently signed off and note them down...

Do this again to narrow down the list

Of course this all could be a waste of time if the harrasser is using Polygamy to sign in several times but worth a shot.

He CAN. They are adding him, therefore it is possible.

Please, do not post to simply make him think it is impossible. You are simply putting his hopes down
---------------------------
What I suggest you is check everyone of your contacts, and clear up the list a bit. Get rid of people you never talk to, people you don't enjoy talking to on MSN, etc etc. Then, once this is done, save your contact list and start a new email for MSN Messenger.

On this new account, add noone. Leave it on. If you get a request for someone to add you, it is indeed a trojan that you have on your machine.

well ,first of all I aready made new email but the whole problem recently started up again.I suspect 2 friends of mine for doing so.Of course I didn't add them to new account but somebody has forwarded my email in forwards .I really have no hard evidence its them and its really stressing me out .they do have patches for multiple sign in .Is there any way to tell the i.p of the person i chat with then i can compare ISO

You can find peoples IP's by typing netstat -n in command prompt and look between ports 6891-6900, but for this to work there must be a direct connection between your computers, e.g sending a file. Other than that I dont think theres a way...
